The environmentally friendly person I want to talk about is my grandma. She is already 83 years old but remains in great health. Every morning after breakfast, she takes a walk in a nearby park, which usually lasts about an hour. In the evening, she likes to sit in front of the house and chat with other elderly ladies.

Her way of protecting the environment is quite simple. On her way back from her morning walk, she always carries her own cloth bag to the supermarket to buy vegetables, eliminating the need for plastic bags. However, she didn’t always do this. But after I explained to her that plastic bags take hundreds of years to decompose and can be deadly to animals if accidentally ingested, she changed her behavior. Now, no matter where she goes, she always brings her cloth bag with her.

放弃塑料袋而使用布袋子是一种非常简单的保护环境的方式。但坚持是另外一件事情。即使我们知道塑料对环境的危害，有时候我们仍然会因为其便利性而使用它。

Giving up plastic bags in favor of reusable ones is a simple way to protect the environment, but sticking to this habit is another challenge. Even though many of us are aware of the damage plastic causes, we sometimes still choose it for convenience.

这就是我为什么佩服我奶奶的原因。她从来都不会忘记带上自己的布袋子。如果每个人都像她那样，我相信我们的环境问题将在短时期内获得重大改善。

That’s why I truly admire my grandma. She never forgets to bring her cloth bag, no matter what. If everyone were as conscious and committed as she is, I believe our environmental problems would see significant improvement in a short time.
