The experience I am going to tell you is that I went skiing with three of my roommates two years ago. Back then, one of them noticed an advertisement saying that a new skiing resort had been established in the suburb of the city with a train station nearby. And students enjoyed 50% off the price, which obviously made it more appealing.
For me, skiing used to be an exclusive sport for the wealthy class mainly because of its strict requirements on the field, but with the introduction of artificial snow, its cost seemed to have decreased dramatically. Considering the extra discount, it had become quite affordable for us. So we decided to give it a go during that weekend.
After a lot of preparation, like renting equipment and changing clothes, we finally set our feet on the snow. I attempted to recall the movements of the professional athletes I had watched on TV and swung my poles just like them. This article is from laokaoya website. However, instead of moving forward, I lost balance and fell, and it took me a lot of effort to stand up again. My friends laughed at me hilariously, but when they made the step, the same thing happened. For about a whole hour, we just repeated our failure and did not even manage to leave the entrance. Eventually, we gave up and hired an instructor to help us.
I had to admit that a good teacher could make a big difference. Soon we learned the trick and could slide for a short distance. Mastering a skill was of course pleasant, but what made this experience unique was the various falling positions of my friends and how they struggled to get up. They are still vivid in my mind and every time I recall them, I cannot help laughing out.
