I am going to tell you about an experience that I drove about 400 kilometers to Bashang grassland to have a vacation. It is a popular tourist destination for the residents living in nearby cities. Every now and then, I can see my friends or relatives post pictures of them riding horses, having roasted lambs, or appreciating the clear blue sky there on social media.
It was during the last three-day Labor Holiday. The length of time was a little awkward. It was too short to return home to enjoy some family time and too long to idle around on the campus. So my roommates and I decided to have a short trip, and thus Bashang grassland occurred to me. This article is from laokaoya website. I had expected it would take some effort to persuade them, but quite surprisingly, they unanimously applauded this idea.
Since this was a self-guided tour, there was a lot of preparation to be done. We read many travelogues to learn about the local condition, like which restaurant was the most delicious, which hotel had the best facilities, and what kinds of entertainment were available at that time. Moreover, given our different economic backgrounds, we also had the money issue to consider so that the cost would be within everyone’s budget.
I had thought that it would be an exhausting journey because I was the only one who had a driver’s license back then, which meant I had to drive the 400 kilometers all by myself. But it turned out pretty hilarious. With the music on and my friends making fun of each other, the long distance was covered in the blink of an eye.
