I am going to tell you a picture of a little boy at 5 or 6 years old. In it, he was holding a Xun, an egg-like musical instrument against his mouth and trying hard to blow it. You can tell from his red face that he had made every effort. But his face was full of confusion and disappointment. Obviously, he did not succeed.

I took the picture when I was wandering on a street selling various antiques and handicrafts in Xi’an, a historical city, which used to be the capital of 13 dynasties. I was passing a stall specializing in traditional Chinese musical instruments. Then I noticed this little boy. He was imitating the stall keeper’s behavior and trying to play the Xun. But no matter how hard he tried, no sound was made out. I thought the scene was quite interesting, so I took my cellphone out of my pocket and shot it.
