The experience I am going to tell you about happened on May 3rd, the last day of the Labor Day Holiday. My parents and I had a self-drive tour to the Laojun Mountains, one of the famous tourist attractions nearby. We set off at 6 am and intended to return at 8 pm. Most of the journey went as planned, except for the returning part.
我要告诉你的经历发生于5月3日，劳动节假期的最后一天。我父母和我自驾前往老君山玩，一个附近比较有名的旅游景点。我们早上六点出发，想要晚上8点回来。旅途的大部分都跟计划一样，除了回来的部分。
Just when we were leaving the highway, I saw numerous cars queueing on the road with their taillights on. My father turned on the radio to learn about what had happened. It seemed that a large number of people had chosen to have a vacation during the 3-day holiday and embarked on the return journey at the same time, causing a clog at the tollgate. It was said the line had extended for over 4 kilometers and the only we could do was to wait.

I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and started to scroll through social media and Tik Tok. A lot of people had posted their holiday experiences. Some conducted trips like my family, some reunited with their friends, and some stayed at home to have a good rest. Two hours later, my phone was dead, but the tollgate was still out of sight.
