Someone I enjoy spending time with is Gérard who is the husband of my mother’s youngest sister and my only French uncle.
一位我想共度时光的人是Gérard，它是我小姨的老公，也是我唯一一位法国籍的姨父。
I knew him since he was with my aunt in China. It’s been almost 10 years. I remember the first time he visited my family, I was a bit embarrassed as I barely understood French. So, most of our conversation was in English as that was the only common language between us.
我小姨和他在国内生活的时候我就认识他了。算起来也有十年多的时间了。我记得他第一次来我家的时候，我还觉得挺不好意思的。因为，当时我不怎么懂法语。所以，我们多数谈话都是用英文进行的。因为，那是我们唯一的共同语言。
When we were together, he often taught me some technical things. As I become more and more familiar with him, I realized that he has an exceptional talent on automobiles. Well, the reason why I love spending time with Gérard is that I can learn something from him. Since he became my uncle and had more contact with me, both my French and driving skills have improved quite a lot. You know, I am grateful that I could have an uncle like in my life.
