The person I am going to tell you about is Tang Renjie, a famous online food critic. Although he has never systematically introduced his life story, from the pieces of information he reveals in his videos, we can still learn that he received vocational training as a cook after graduating from secondary school and eventually made it to the head chef of the five-star hotel, Sheraton. After quitting his job, he created an account on social media and became a food critic.

This article is from Laokaoya website. Normally, he would take a bite of the food, describe the taste, explain how it is cooked and grade it. The shooting may take over an hour, but the length of the videos is cut to 2-3 minutes to fit the hectic schedule of modern people.

I follow him mainly because of his professional review. There are so many food critics on social media, but most of them have never received formal training. Their descriptions about the food are abstract and bleak, from which I can hardly get what the food is like. But Tang is different. His narrative enables you to imagine what the dish taste like and whether it is delicious or not.
