An item I spent money on with a price beyond my expectation is a modem which is the key component for home Internet setting.
Well, if my memory was correct, I spent around a thousand RMB on it. This equipment was from one of the well-received wifi router manufacturers called TP-Link. However, I didn’t expect it to be this expensive.
The reason why I bought it was that I moved to another place where there was no internet connection. And, you know, I couldn’t live without the Internet. So, this article is from Laokaoya website, I called the provider to install the internet which needed a modem as the portal. Plus, there was a technical reason that I still quite understand that somehow I must use this specific TP-Link type of modem for the installation.
I guess it was because of the pandemic that has made the price of the modem ridiculously high. You know, since more and more people have chosen to work from home, there’s an escalating need for this device in order to set up a good-quality home internet. So, I think that’s the main reason I didn’t expect to see the price surge.
