新年对于大家来说绝不陌生，由于题目中并没有说明究竟是农历新年还是公历新年，所以两者皆可。我们在回答的时候也不必特别纠结。如果觉得元旦更有意思就说元旦，如果觉得春节内容更丰富就说春节。
How do you celebrate New year? 你如何庆祝新年？
I usually celebrate New year by having a great meal with my family or friends. You know, we have one day off on the first day of January. So, that’s a perfect opportunity for us to have a gathering and it’s always been nice to sit back and enjoy the great foods with them.
我经常和我的家人或者朋友一起通过吃顿大餐来庆祝。我们在元月的第一天有一天的休息时间。所以，这是一个绝佳的机会让我们聚在一起。和他们一起，坐下来休息并且享受美食非常不错。
Do you still remember a new year that you celebrated? 你还记得你曾经庆祝过的一个新年吗？
Yes, I do. The most memorable new year that I celebrated was the last one when the pandemic started. You know, there was a strict lock-down. So, we couldn’t go out. This article is from Laokaoya website. But, that didn’t stop us from making it meaningful. We honored this day by making some palatable foods from scratch. It really made my day!

Do you have any ceremonies to celebrate the New Year in your country? 在你们国家，庆祝新年的时候有什么仪式吗？
Yes, there are. Actually, we have two kinds of New Year to celebrate, the Lunar New Year and the one that is on the first day of January. So, we set fireworks and have galas on both occasions. In addition to that, we also have a tradition of visiting friends and relatives during the lunar new year period as that’s the only time when people are taking a break together in a year.
是的，其实呢，我们会庆祝两种新年。一个是农历的新年，还有一个就是一月第一天的新年。所以，我们在这两个情景下都会放烟火并举办晚会。除此之外，我们在农历新年还有走亲访友的传统。因为，这是一年中唯一一个大家能够休息并聚在一起的时间。
Why do people think New Year is a beginning? 为什么人们觉得新年是一个开端？
Honestly, I have no idea. But, off the top of my head, the first day of the Calendar is itself a start for the year, right? Also, I assume people attach symbolic meaning to that day. You know, it would be a transition for people to do things like work or studies, reminding them that there is a fresh start no matter what has happened in the past.
老实说，我不太清楚。但是，我脑海中能想到的就是，日历上的第一天本身就是一年的开端，对吧？除此之外呢，我觉得人们会觉得那一天也有象征意义。这一天可能是人们工作或者学习的一个转折点，告诉他们不管曾经发生了什么，接下来会有一个新的起点。
