Describe a time when you were surprised to meet a friend
除此之外,surprise的英文定义为:a brief emotional state experienced as the result of an unexpected significant event。

A time I felt quite surprised to meet a friend happened about three months ago when the lockdown for the Covid-19 was completely over in our city.
The person I met was my bestie, Li, whom I haven’t seen for ages since the outbreak of the virus. I remember it was a sunny weekend in that month, but I couldn’t remember clearly which date it was. This article is from Laokaoya website. I bumped into him while I was waiting in a line to grab a meal at Meizhoudongpo, which was a popular local restaurant of the southern Chinese food.
我当时在Meizhoudongpo(一家当地很受欢迎的中国南方餐馆)排队吃饭,然后就偶遇了他。
The restaurant was located near the third ring road in our city, and it was pretty close to our campus, but I was not a regular visitor to it. You know what, I was dumbfounded when I saw him because I didn’t expect his presence at this place which was quite far from where he was living.
Well, another reason why I was so surprised to meet him was that his appearance was totally different, especially his hair, which was way longer than the last time I saw him. You know I thought that he could trim his hair instead of having it cut by the barbers due to the pandemic. However, he didn’t and turned out to be an artistic looking. No offense to him, but I just didn’t get accustomed to his looking.
Part 3
Are there any meetings that people need to plan in advance?
Are there any jobs related to unexpected things?
Do unexpected things lead to progress in our civilisation?
Why do friends meet up?
