I think the difference is not so obvious in terms of the outside appearance. But as for the interior design, there’s a huge difference in recent decades. When I was a child, about 7 years old or so, I could hardly see someone’s apartment ceiling was decorated with lots of western styles. What I could remember was that that the droplight on the ceiling had no other ornaments. But now, as you can see in most families, there’s a common mix of the traditional Chinese and Western elements.
我觉得在现代房屋的外部设计没有太多明显的变化，但是就内部设计而言，最近几十年来看还是有很大差异的。我记得在我小的时候，大概七八岁把，我几乎看不到有西式风格的装修。我记得那会儿天花板上的吊灯都没有太多装饰品。但现在呢，在很多家庭里的设计都有中西式的元素的融合。
