I think the main reason why people grow their own food these days is that food safety has become an important issue in our society. So, it’s not hard to understand that they want to ensure the food is harmless by growing it themselves.
我认为人们当今自己种植植物的一个主要原因是因为食品安全在当今社会变成了一个很重要的问题。消费者不能够控制食物厂商或者农民的食物质量和安全。人们就会担心农作物比如蔬菜就和被打上对身体有害的农药。所以，不难理解，他们要是自己耕作食物的话，就能够确保食物是无公害的。
