I am going to tell you about an unpleasant experience I had in a physical store not far away from home. It was late October last year, the junction between autumn and winter. Since the temperature was dropping day by day, I decided to buy a new jacket to shield the cold breeze. I had thought about online platforms but eventually chose the physical store because I could see what it looked like on me immediately.
我要告诉你一段我在我家附近的商店里所遭遇的不愉快经历。那是去年十月下旬,秋冬交际的时候。由于温度每天都在下降,我决定买件新的夹克来抵御寒风。我考虑过线上平台,但最终选择了实体店,因为我能立刻看到穿上之后的效果。
After wandering in the mall for over an hour, I finally found something that caught my eye in a chain store. This article is from laokaoya website. It was a brown jacket, featuring a wide lapel decorated with rabbit fur on the rim and soft, fleece lining. Just looking at it made me feel warm.

I asked the shopping assistant to get my size. But all of them seemed to be occupied. Two of them were helping other customers, and the last one was operating on the computer. So I waited. But ten minutes later, when the customers had left the store, there was still nobody coming to help. Without a choice, I approached one of them and asked if she could help me find my size. But quite to my surprise, she glanced at me and said that this garment was not cheap, and I had better take a second thought so that we would waste each other’s time.

I felt humiliated and belittled. How could she judge me with a single glance? Even if it did exceed my affordability, she should not refuse to help me for this reason since it contradicted her duty. From then on, I have never visited that store again.
